# $IDOL Token

$IDOL is the official game token of *Idolverse* on the Polygon blockchain. It is used to purchase in-game NFT items such as clothing for your avatar and power ups for gameplay.\
\
$IDOL is initialized with a supply of 10,000,000 tokens. Once *Idolverse* gameplay launches in mid-2022, additional $IDOL can be earned by playing.\
\
The initial supply will be distributed entirely to the community, with none reserved for developers, investors or any other kind of special party. The distribution is broken down as follows:\
**75% to sign ups and referrals** - Players can earn tokens by signing up and referring friends on the *Idolverse* website. All sign ups will need to verify their account via SMS to prevent botting. Players can sign up and verify prior to the launch of gameplay.\
**20% to provide liquidity** - These tokens will be used to set up an initial liquidity pool on Uniswap or Sushi. The LP tokens will be burned immediately so liquidity cannot be removed.\
**5% for Asami NFT holders** - These are early supporters who participated in Phase 1 of *Idolverse* by purchasing an NFT.

$IDOL can be claimed via the *Idolverse* website after it is announced on the official Discord and Twitter.
